San Cap Lions Now Accepting Applications for 2021 Frances Bailey Scholarships

The Sanibel Captiva Lions Club offers Francis Bailey Scholarships each year to post-secondary students who either live or work on the islands or whose parents do.  These scholarships can be used for study at any accredited college or technical school.   The requirements for the scholarships, the instructions the completion of the application form are available on-line.  To access these documents, go to the Lions Club web site www.sanibelcaptivalions.org.  Click on the Scholarships Tab at the top.  This will bring up  the Scholarship splash page.  There are links to download the instructions and scholarship form.  The deadline for the application submission is April 1.  If you have any questions or for more information, please contact the Lions Club through the contact link on the web site. 

The endowment for the scholarships was started by a generous donation by Francis Bailey, one of the founders the Club, and has been supported by various fund raisers and donations over the years.  The Lions Club welcomes anyone interested in donating to the Lions Scholarship Fund to contact the Club for more information.

The Sanibel Captiva Lions Club has been serving the Sanibel and Captiva Communities for over 50 years.  While the Lions Club is most known for their effort to eliminate preventable blindness, the club serves citizens of the Islands and greater Southwest Florida in a variety of ways.  The local club is part of Lions Club International, the largest service organization in the world with over 1.4 million members in chapters in over 200 countries. 

Sanibel Captiva Lions Club holds regular dinner meetings on the first and third Wednesday of the month during the year. Visiting Lions or other interested people are welcome to attend.
