Sanibel Captiva Lions Club
As part of the Lions Clubs International, the world’s largest service club,
we are focused on our motto:
“We Serve”
In 1925 when Helen Keller challenged the Lions to be the Knights of the Blind, the need was apparent and the challenge was accepted. Today, we help those afflicted with sight impairment and blindness through Education and local testing such as regularly scheduled Vision, Diabetes and Hearing Screenings, Restorative Surgeries through cooperating physicians, Free Eyeglasses, and assistance in providing trained Guide Dogs to those in need. We also do this by contributing money raised through our various fund-raising activities to the following organizations:

Along with the worldwide commitment to help eliminate blindness we also work to help worthwhile causes in our own community and we offer individual scholarships to students to advance their higher education.
We contribute financially to:
Bailey Scholarship Fund
Children’s Education Center of the Island (CECI)
Community Housing Resources (CHR)
The Community House, Sanibel Community Association
Sanibel School Principal Fund
Sanibel Island Night
We volunteer our time and effort for:
