The Sanibel Captiva Lions Club announces a donation to Children’s Education Center of the Islands in the amount of $1,000.00 to assist in their pre-school education program. This donation represents a return to the Lions Club support for the CECI. The CECI was started in 1974 in the old Bailey Store. In 1980 the Lions Club and the Bailey Family donated five acres on Casa Ybel so that CECI could move into larger facilities. The Lions Club looks forward to continued support of CECI.
The Sanibel Captiva Lions Club’s mission is to eliminate preventable blindness and to contribute to the Sanibel and Captiva communities. Sanibel Captiva Lions Club holds regular dinner meetings on the first and third Wednesday of the month during the year. Visiting Lions or other interested people are welcome to attend.
