As part of the Lions Clubs International, the world's largest service club, we are focused on our motto.

In 1925 when Helen Keller challenged the Lions to be the Knights of the Blind the need was apparent and the challenge was accepted. Today we work to help those afflicted with sight impairment and blindness through local education and testing, surgeries, as well as providing eyeglasses and guide dogs to those in need. We do this through the following organizations.

Florida Lions Foundation for the Blind, Inc.
Lions Clubs International Foundation
Along with the worldwide commitment to help eliminate blindness we also work to help worthwhile causes in our own community. With our fully funded Bailey Scholarship program we offer individual scholarships to students to advance their university education.
We contribute...
to organizations that help residents in crisis, F.I.S.H. and Friends Who Care
to the handicap student program of Edison State College,
to V.I.P. Rehabilitation Center for those with sight impairment,
to a local Public Radio station, WGCU, that offers audio programs for those who are blind
and we contribute Lions Benches to the beautification of Sanibel.
