Recycle for Sight Collections Up In December 2018

The Sanibel Captiva Lions Club continues collecting used prescription eyeglasses as part of its Recycle for Sight program. In December 2018, a total of 331 glasses, lenses and cases were collected. Donations were up by 72 percent compared to November 2018 with an end-of-calendar-year total of 1,596 items.
“We had a very nice uptick in collections versus November 2018 and are grateful for the community’s support in this valuable program,” said program coordinator Lion Rick Wagner.

Donated glasses are cleaned and processed by Lions for distribution in needed areas of the United States and throughout the world. Donations of prescription glasses, reading glasses, prescription sunglasses, cases and hearing aids can be made in any of the specially-marked Recycle for Sight boxes or to a neighboring Lion.
